Quim Serrano Bou
Quim Serrano Bou is a Spanish painter and visual artist based in Blanes, Spain. His practice combines abstract painting, collage and an expansive use of colour. Through fragments, layered marks and material interventions, he constructs paintings that move between image and object. The work is driven by the relationship between chromatic intensity, gesture, surface and the physical process of making.
Serrano Bou (b. 1952, Blanes, Girona) has a long career as a social and visual artist. During the 1980s he lived in New York City, and his time in Asia and Latin America shaped his artistic versatility and his instinct for innovation.
Quim has presented his work internationally, including in New York, Miami and Monaco. He is currently developing a focused body of recent paintings for dialogue with galleries, curators and contemporary art platforms in Europe.
